Executive Team

Syntura is a local Queensland proprietary limited company founded in 2008 with over $2-3M annual turnover. It has 3 directors who have over 95 years combined experience in the ICT Industry.

We have a client-centric focus and pride ourselves on being professional, flexible and easy to work with. Our success comes from delivering outcomes that change the way ICT views the business and how the business views ICT.

Our Managing Director (Tony Clifford) has 35 years Executive (EGM, CIO) and ICT Program & Project Management experience, Our other directors Dimitrios Papagiannis and Rick Nucifora have 30 years commercial testing and project management experience covering ICT software development and package implementation projects.

As part of an engagement Syntura will bring Intellectual Property (IP) developed over 14 years of ICT reviews, ICT Sourcing evaluations and the implementation of multiple ICT programs and projects. To us the difference between consulting and contracting is the IP the organisation brings with it and the use of that IP and mentoring experience to fast-track delivery of reviews to clients.

  • Implemented Digital Transformation Programs for Integratedliving, Uniting Care, Uniting Church, Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO), Victorian Auditor General Office (VAGO), Qld Audit Office (QAO) & Mercy Community Services
  • A former Executive General Manager who established & lead a 250 person ICT Portfolio, Program & Project Delivery Group (4 years) for SPARQ Solutions (Energex & Ergon Energy joint venture) with an annual program of work of $165m
  • A skilled manager and negotiator with ICT Suppliers & outsourcers, on tenders, contracts, performance management, that deliver outcomes
  • Developed an innovative ICT Review and Sourcing framework and transformation process which was implemented at Integratedliving, VAGO, QAO, GPC, Uniting Care Qld, Xstrata Queensland & Tarong Energy
  • Former CIO for Tarong Energy (Stanwell) developing; ICT strategy, managing operations, delivering ICT programs of work (PMO), changing ICT outsourcing models, managing a flood crisis & an ICT merger (Stanwell & CS Energy)
  • Proven ICT people manager able to motivate and coach teams to deliver excellent outcomes to customers
  • Excellent at building business relationships with customers and peers through delivering on promised outcomes
  • MBA, Honours Degree, AIPM Master Project Director Level, strong in ICT process alignment & project management methodologies (ITIL, PMBOK, Prince2).

Dimitrios Papagiannis

AIPM and PRINCE2 Certified Project Manager with over 33 years of IT development, project and program management experience. Successfully delivered multiple projects across a diverse range of business areas.

  • Successfully delivered ICT Projects in a range of industries on time, to the original budget and with high client satisfaction. Focus industries include Utilities (Qld Urban Utilities, Energex, Ergon Energy, SPARQ,) and Not for profits (integratedliving, Uniting Care Health and BlueCare).
  • Managed a project portfolio for SPARQ Solutions with an annual program of work of $10M and a resource revenue stream of $8M. This included managing streams on flagship high Priority projects

Rick Nucifora

27 years ICT industry experience delivering successful testing outcomes as a Senior Test Manager allocated to high risk projects.

  • Test Management and testing experience covers numerous ICT applications including highly custom developments, complex integrated solutions and desktops systems that include:
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations
    • Client management systems 
    • Workforce scheduling and automation systems
    • SOE and Microsoft product implementations and upgrades
    • Complex SCADA implementations
    • Financial & billing systems
    • Service call and Outage management systems
    • Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR)
  • Successfully delivered test management in multiple industries ensuring clients receive their expected outcomes in projects. The industries include Transport (ARTC, Aurizon, Transport and Main Roads), Electricity (Energex and Ergon Energy), Aged Care (Integratedliving, Wesley Mission Queensland) and Ports (Gladstone Ports Corporation).
  • Scoped and managed the testing for systems upgrades (hardware and software), like for like system replacements and new application installations and company merges and demerges involving amalgamation or separation of IT systems
  • Expert knowledge in testing methodologies and experience in implementing test frameworks, methodology, strategies and processes for clients
  • A skilled facilitator of independent arbitration and collaboration between ICT Development team, the Vendor and the Business to improve project quality outcomes
  • Strong people skills with the ability to bridge the gap between ICT development/packaged applications teams and Customers around the testing process.
